Our homemakers at the agency offer direct and practical assistance with household tasks and related activities. Homemaker services assist the consumers who have experienced a loss in the ability to perform the instrumental activities in daily living to remain in a safe, clean, and healthy home environment.
Instrumental Activities of Dail
Our homemakers at the agency offer direct and practical assistance with household tasks and related activities. Homemaker services assist the consumers who have experienced a loss in the ability to perform the instrumental activities in daily living to remain in a safe, clean, and healthy home environment.
Instrumental Activities of Daily Living refers to certain daily tasks (light housework, preparing meals, taking medications, shopping for groceries or clothes, using the telephone, and managing money), which enable consumer to live independently in their community.
Conducting routine housekeeping activities such as:
making/changing beds
dusting
washing dishes, pots/pans, utensils
cleaning kitchen counters, cupboards and appliances, ovens, refrigerator
gathering trash
cleaning bathroom fixtures
sweeping, vacuuming carpets and upholstery
washing inside windows and blinds within reach
doing laundry
meal planning and preparation
assistance with diet plans and maintenance provided by physician
escorting/transporting consumer to medical facilities, errands, shopping
shopping for essential items – groceries and supplies

Our Companionship service includes non-medical care, socialization and basic supervision to ensure consumer safety and well-being. Companions may provide light housekeeping tasks, which are secondary to the care and supervision of the consumers.

Agency provides Companion/Sitter services to individuals in their own homes and communities, who need assistance caring for themselves because of old age, sickness, disability and/or other inflictions.
Companion/Sitter services include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
providing companionship, friendship and emotional support;
talking listening, sharing experiences;
playing games/cards, reading to consumer etc.;
helping keep consumer in contact with family, friends and the outside world;
providing transportation to medical appointments, grocery store and errands;
accompanying consumer to recreational and/or social events;
assisting with plans for visits and outings;
writing or typing letters/correspondence;
organizing and reading mail;
planning local trips and out-of-town travel with consumer;
teaching/performing meal planning and preparation;
performing light housekeeping;
accompanying consumer on walks;
reminding consumer to take medication;
reminding consumer to start or finish meals; and,
assisting with pet

Chore Services are ideal for individuals in their own homes and communities, who need assistance caring for themselves because of old age, sickness, disability and/or other inflictions.
These services are short-term, non-continuous tasks necessary to maintain a clean, safe, sanitary and habitable home environment to maintain consumers health and safety.
Chore services include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
doing heavy cleaning (washing walls, windows, stoves and woodwork);
cleaning closets, basements and attics to remove fire and health hazards;
cleaning/shampooing and securing rugs and carpets;
spraying for insects within the home with over-the-counter supplies;
providing rodent control within the home (i.e., setting traps);
replacing light bulbs.
